Your Secret
YOUR SECRET
by R.D. Snow (Apr 2019)
What kind of life could lead you to let go
and forget about your past?
You run through crowded streets to feel alive
yet you hide behind a mask?
What kind of world would make you want to cry
and wish you remained unseen?
Just to make it through the day without a frown
shouldn't have to be a dream.
But the longer you wait to make your peace
the harder each day will seem,
so if one day you need release,
just ask the stars to refuse to shine,
and when the sky crashes down in darkness,
don't worry, your secret is safe with me.
