Still. Do.
Dedicated to the love of my life and my best friend. Thank your for patiently waiting for this song, after all these years!
Still. Do.
by R.D. Snow (March 2022)
inner beauty at only seventeen
writin’ love poems in a whirlwind of dreams
wishin’ one day just might bring
a perfect girl for me
fast forward a decade or two
and the girl I wrote about was you
even though it all started way, way,
way back when
oh, when I never knew
but I loved you then
and I, still do
now I realize
it's never too early to love
so it's never too late to write you
this love song
this country love song, love
in a world where we perfectly matched
who knew you’d be so-so great at
tearing apart paper
when you didn’t have your own love song
sorry it took this long!
so I'll say it again and again and again
and again if you really need me to
I loved you then, love
Still do!
one day we’ll grow old together
in our home with Jack and…
fly out to heaven like two singin’ birds
still hand in hand
’cause we always knew we would never be alone
the moment we said those three words
in the moonlight in the sand
oh, I’ve tried to write you a song
you know I never could
just waitin’ for this moment ’til I understood
never too early to love
never too late to write you
love songs
country love songs, love
we fell in love under those summer stars
and we’ll fall beyond each one of them, too
no matter when or where we are
no matter when or where we are
although it took years to write these final stanzas
here it is all laid out in the best way
yeah, the best way that I could, for you
I loved you then, Samantha
