An Emu at Fossil Rim
AN EMU AT FOSSIL RIM
by R.D. Snow (Jan 2020)
If you've ever come face to face with a red-eyed emu
As it stares into your soul
Maybe wanting to poke your eyes out
Or demanding a thru-way toll
You'd know that you can't be too sure
Of its real intentions, nope!
So you keep that window rolled up
Hoping the curious face won't get inside
An Emu is not a ferocious beast
Not a T-Rex screaming at you through the glass; at least
With tiny hands waving here and there
No, it might just want a new best friend;
The Emu and You ?
I heard an Emu is just a lonely ostrich; but with sass
Not likely a dangerous foe
All the same-
I'll pass!
